Patient TransporterStatus: Per DiemLocation: Canton Potsdam Hospital-50 Leroy Street Potsdam, NY 13676Department: Imaging ServicesSchedule: Days/Evenings, M-F, 8hr variable shifts, weekend requirementSummary: Transporting patients to and from floors to the Imaging department. Requires training and proficiency with Meditech, eCw, synapse, scanning and other workflow processes. Responsible for pulling and reviewing specialty schedules (MRI,CT,NM), pulling of patient orders, calling to confirm patient appointments. Responsible for re-stocking supplies, and placing monthly Sywest order. Maintain all O2 tanks for the imaging department, and ensure they are filled with maintenance. Cover in the front office as needed.Responsibilities:(50%) Transporting patients to and from floors to the Imaging Department.(20%) Calling scheduled patients to confirm appointments, and verifying orders.(15%) Restocking supplies and placing Sywest monthly order, maintain O2 tanks as needed.(15%) Covering the front desk as needed.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma/EquivalentBLS within three months of hirePreferred Qualifications:Medical TerminologyOne year experience in healthcareUnion:1199 SEIU (CPH) Service, Maintenance & ClericalNote: Not all per diem roles are union eligibleEducation:Licenses / Certifications:Physical Requirements:Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
