Job Summary and Qualifications Receives, initiates and implements orders for ultrasound sonography exams/procedures using a high degree of quality and timeliness. What you will do in this role: Receives, initiates, implements and completes ultrasound exams on patients of all ages with a high degree of quality and timeliness Demonstrates expertise necessary to assess patients exam needs in relation to their ordered exam Completes all documentation, written and electronic taking the patient to a completed or taken status Provides for patients’ privacy during all exams Demonstrates expertise in the operation of the ultrasound Machine. Can detect mechanical problems and effectively troubleshoot or remove from service Provides age appropriate care to all patient populations for which staff member is responsible and trained for: Birth-1 - Adult = 18-59 years - Pediatric=1 - 12 years - Geriatric=60 & over - Youth=13-17 years Competent in the use of and disinfection of the endo-vaginal ultrasound probe as per policy procedure (RAD 323) What qualifications you will need: Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date (RDMS) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date RVT required Vocational School Graduate from an American Medical Association approved school of ultrasound Two years' experience preferred Rio Grande Regional Hospital, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
