Cook Position at Malibu Jack's LafayetteCooks at Malibu Jack's are friendly, upbeat individuals with a desire to provide high quality food products, safely and efficiently. This role is responsible for ensuring that all menu items are prepared accurately, working with the team to manage low ticket times and uncompromising food quality, practicing safe food handling, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, and working under pressure.Cooks report to the Kitchen ManagerQualifications:Exemplify the company's core valuesEnsure optimum guest experienceHold team accountable for quality, consistency, and upkeep of sanitization standards as set forth by company and state regulationsPractice an ownership mentality with an emphasis in motivation and teamworkMaintain highest levels of quality & presentationAccurately portion all orders to ensure low food costSafety:Ensures areas are free from hazards that would potentially injure staff or guestsAddresses and immediately corrects any practices that lower safety standardsEducation and/or Experience:Kitchen experience preferred, but not requiredAbility and willingness to eventually learn all stations on the lineComputer skills:Understands and can operate the POS systemLanguage skills:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Mathematical skills:Basic MathematicsReasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, or stand on their feet for an extended period of time, bend and twist their body, and may be required to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs.Additional Requirements:Position requires consistent activity, such as walking, bending and liftingMust be able to work holidays and weekendsEmployment may require background checkNotice of E-Verify Participation: Five Star Parks & Attractions participates in the E-Verify program.Five Star Park & Attractions is an equal opportunity employer.
