The RN Unit Manager supports the Director of Nursing with the delivery of efficient and effective nursing care while achieving positive clinical outcomes, and patient/family and employee satisfaction during a designated shift. He/she is responsible for the clinical operations of the Nursing Units, including ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, practice standards and regulations. This is primarily a Monday‑Friday position, but with rotating Manager on duty and/or On‑Call. Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager Observe and monitor residents’ health and assess their needs to provide quality care Work with physicians to create individual care plans and assist them during required operations or procedures Maintain complete healthcare records and reports, including PCC, being utilized according to best practices Supervise, manage, and assist in training LPNs and GNAs on staff Perform routine procedures as needed, including administering medication and injections, and provide emergency medical care when necessary Collaborate with DON in maintaining adequate staffing coverage Assess work performance of nursing staff while on duty ensuring timeliness in services to our patients/residents Maintain security of the facility, creating an environment that is respectful, team‑oriented, and responsive to the needs of our staff, patients, and their families Monitor nursing care to reduce hospitalizations and ensure positive outcomes Review prospective admissions in relation to existing nursing capabilities and ensure readiness to treat Ensure that the patient’s attending physician and family or responsible party are promptly notified of any significant change in the patient’s health condition Investigate patient/family complaints and take appropriate actions to bring to resolution Requirements of the Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager Current RN license in the state of Maryland BLS/CPR certification In-depth knowledge of nursing care methods and health and safety guidelines Responsible and compassionate with outstanding organizational and communication skills Experience supervising GNAs and LPNs in a nursing home setting Frederick Villa Healthcare is an equal opportunity employer that promotes a drug‑free workplace. #INDEngage #J-18808-Ljbffr Frederick Villa Healthcare
