Engineering Operator

Engineering Operator Location: Shakopee, MN Duration: 12+ Months contract with possibility for extension Pay Rate Range: $24/hr- $26/hr on W-2. This is a fully onsite position. Candidates must work on our W‑2. No third‑party candidates. This position is responsible for working with engineers to build prototypes and moderate production levels of fiber‑optic products. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Build samples of fiber‑optic products and support moderate levels of production assembly. Complete samples and production assemblies per the required timeline. Collect, read, and record product test data in the data systems. Communicate issues in a timely manner to the engineer or operations lead. Other Department Duties and Responsibilities Exhibit a necessary level of competency with a broad range of manufacturing tools and equipment, lab test equipment, and fiber‑optic products, after some training. Follow department safety and efficiency programs. Complete training in lab processes, procedures, and test methods as required. Collaborate with current lab staff, which includes other engineers and technicians in a team‑oriented environment. Required Qualifications Solid communication skills. Good eye/hand coordination to build the fiber‑optic products. Attention to detail. Ability to effectively work within a team environment. May be required to lift up to 40 pounds. Preferred Qualifications Some level of experience working with electrical or fiber‑optic wire products, and smaller components. Experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
