PURPOSE OF POSITION

To retrieve, deliver, and ship inventory to fulfill manufacturing and non-manufacturing department material requests. Produce defined quantity of parts and components according to company and customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. More specifically, the person will: Assure parts and components are accurate according to company and/or customer specifications using measuring devices including but not limited to tape measure, caliper, and dial indicator. Use and understand various paperwork including but not limited to bill of lading, prints, schedules, packing lists, shipping orders, and return goods authorization. Perform housekeeping in area including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, and cleaning tools and machines. Operate various hand-held power and air tools. Grease, clean and paint components. Gather, assemble, and prepare orders for shipment including palletizing according to company and customer specifications. Prepare parts and install components and products for shipping. Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning. Communicate positively with supervisors, fellow workers, and other internal customers

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to accurately utilize measuring devices including but not limited to a tape measure, micrometer caliper, and dial indicator. Have basic ability to read and understand blueprints and/or other specifications. Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and ability to solve problems.

EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE - COMPUTER SKILLS

High school diploma or a general education degree (GED); or One to three months related experience and/or training; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.

TRAINING - CERTIFICATIONS - LICENSES

Continually participate in training related to the job.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the ability to hear alarms of equipment, and the ability to hear instructions from others.

ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY

The noise level in the work environment is LOUD. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Frequently exposed to hot, humid conditions (both weather and non-weather related). Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, rubber gloves, grinding shield, hoist, and hearing protection required. Respirator or air-supply hood required when painting; seatbelt required when operating the forklift.
