Details Work in a 16-bed Cardiac ICU (CVCU) unit caring for pre/post open-heart surgery patients using a universal bed concept where patients remain in the same private room from surgery through discharge Unit also cares for general ICU, complex cardiology, IABP/Impella, and post-cardiac arrest cooling patients Third shift schedule, 6:30p-7a 36 hours per week across 3 shifts, 12 hours per day Every other weekend required Clinical educator provides customized orientation Requirements Active, unrestricted RN license (IN or Compact) BLS certification required ACLS certification required ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience preferred Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices Additional Information Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document in accordance with RN scope of practice and hospital policies Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management Provide patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by other team members Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTI prevention Collaborate effectively with an inter-professional care team Promote a positive, healing environment through nursing excellence and evidence-based practice American Traveler Job ID P-746219.
