Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, no weekends, call up to 40 hours on a 6-week schedule Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience, with specific experience in multiple surgical procedures License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Acute care nursing - Patient assessment - Care plan development - Clinical intervention monitoring - Patient and family education Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit and promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. The RN emphasizes patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Key Responsibilities: - Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. - Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care while collaborating with patients/families and interdisciplinary services. - Evaluation: Monitors and documents response to clinical interventions. - Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs during their stay and at discharge. - Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; functions as a mentor/preceptor and promotes teamwork. - Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes. - Complies with regulatory standards and participates in a practice governance model.
