Apex Systems is looking to hire an ONSITE Strategic Buyer for our client based out of Greensboro, NC.

This assignment is anticipated to be a 12-month contract with strong potential for extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment.

This will also have a first-shift MondayFriday schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Lead sourcing initiatives within assigned commodity or service categories to support business objectives, cost reduction targets, and supplier performance goals.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with organizational priorities and long-term procurement objectives.
• Analyze spend, supplier performance, market trends, and business requirements to identify sourcing opportunities and improvement initiatives.
• Manage supplier selection processes, including supplier evaluation, RFQs/RFPs, negotiations, and contract execution.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, service levels, and contractual agreements with suppliers.
• Establish and maintain supplier relationship management processes that support performance, innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand sourcing requirements and develop procurement strategies that meet business needs.
• Monitor market conditions, supply chain risks, and industry trends impacting material or service availability and cost.
• Coordinate supplier implementation and integration activities with cross-functional teams.
• Support cost reduction programs and identify opportunities for increased efficiency, competitiveness, and value creation.
• Drive supplier performance reviews and corrective action initiatives when necessary.
• Participate in digitalization, sustainability, and procurement transformation initiatives as assigned.
• Prepare sourcing reports, cost analyses, business cases, and supplier recommendations for leadership review.

Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or supplier management.
• Experience developing and executing sourcing strategies and supplier selection processes.
• Strong negotiation skills with experience managing supplier contracts and commercial agreements.
• Experience analyzing market dynamics, supplier performance, pricing trends, and procurement data.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple sourcing projects and priorities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders including operations, engineering, finance, and business leadership.
• Excellent communication and relationship-management skills.
• Experience supporting supplier performance improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with strategic commodity management.
• Knowledge of procurement systems, ERP platforms, and sourcing tools.
• Exposure to supplier development, sustainability initiatives, or procurement digital transformation projects.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or production environments.
• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, APICS, or similar.
