Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 11 PM - 7 AM, 40 hours/week, Every other weekend Experience: 15 months of experience in Psych/Behavioral Health capacity required License: Active Iowa/IA license or compact/multistate license required Certifications: BLS (AHA) required De-escalation certificate (MOAB, MAB, CPI, SAMA) preferred; can be obtained during onboarding Must-Have: Work history/resume must reflect 24 months of current psych/behavioral health experience Skills checklist must be specific to the discipline of psych/behavioral health Professional reference from charge/supervisor/nurse manager/director/CNO/COO performance evaluation within the past 24 months preferred Driver's license required Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a Behavioral Health specialty. The successful candidate will work in an inpatient setting with adult patients. The patient population includes those with major mental health illnesses, chronic behaviors, and potential for violence or self-harm. Experience with all age groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics is required. Candidates must have familiarity with equipment competency, including restraints. Scrub colors will be navy blue, solid colors. The nurse will be required to float to like units as needed. Candidates should have EPIC experience. De-escalation certification is preferred and can be obtained during onboarding. This position requires working 1-2 of three upcoming winter holidays, if the unit is not closed. The patient-to-nurse ratio may vary based on unit needs.
