As a Housekeeping Worker, a typical day might include the following: Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, operating rooms, and assigned hospital areas in a timely manner. Perform trash removal, sweeping, mopping, and other environmental services duties according to hospital policies. Understand and properly handle medical, hazardous, and pharmaceutical waste. Clean surgical equipment, surgical invasive areas, isolation areas, and off-site campus areas as assigned. Maintain adequate stock of supplies and chemicals. Work independently while meeting department quality standards. Lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds. Support Joint Commission and Department of Health compliance standards.
