Program Specialist

Overview Are you someone who enjoys working with youth and making a difference in their lives? The Program Specialist implements, supervises, develops, and evaluates all programs and activities in the program area of Youth Center for members ages 6-12. The hours for this position are Monday through Thursday 2-7:00pm and Friday 11-5:00pm. On school days the hours would be 12:00-5:00pm. Position Title: Program Specialist Reports To: Director of Youth Services/Youth Services Coordinator/Site Director Primary Function: Implement, supervise, develop and evaluate all programs and activities in the program area of Youth Center for members ages 6-12. Position Responsibilities Effectively administer programs and activities for youth ages 6-12. Develop lesson plans and implement programs according to the plans. Develop relationships with youth to ensure trust and confidence in them, to recruit them to participate in programs. Promote and develop leadership skills to members. Implement and enforce all Club rules and policies with the members. Ensure a safe, healthy, and positive environment in the Youth Areas as well as the rest of the center. The successful candidate will have High School Diploma or GED. Experience working with youth ages 6-12 Ability to effectively operate a computer and programs used by the Club. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior. Good driving record, valid driver’s license and auto insurance required. Willingness, comfort and ability to drive a mini-bus for school pick up. And be able to work the scheduled hours. Compensation The pay for this position is $15.00 per hour.
