The role includes direct oversight and review of documentation, physical inspection during the workflow process, and collaboration with in‑house personnel (e.g., Project Managers, Superintendents) and external personnel to produce and document a quality product. Essential Functions Creates, executes, updates, and maintains corporate and project‑specific quality control procedures, documentation, and reports. Reviews shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications by direct review and by leveraging the knowledge and experience of others in the project team when necessary. Provides QC reports that reinforce activities in conformance, and constructively confronts non‑conformance to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner. Schedules, documents results, and maintains a log of all codes and independent inspections required. Documents, corrects, and re‑inspects all non‑conformance. Verifies and documents that all materials received for the project are in conformance with approved submittals, are handled and stored appropriately, and are acceptable for use. Conducts pre‑construction meetings with new and existing subcontractors and the project team to discuss quality issues. Conducts periodic follow‑up inspections to verify that work is proceeding in conformance to contract documents. Coordinates and documents testing, start‑up, and commissioning of building mechanical systems. Provides QC verification of the project "as‑built" drawings during the course of the project and prior to submission to the customer. Provides QC verification of project closeout documents that include O&M manuals, as‑built, and warranties. Stops work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality, or inhibit logical progress of work. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility No Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in the construction industry with a contractor engaged in mechanical and/or industrial construction; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques. Construction‑document literate with knowledge of all phases of construction. Proficient with Microsoft Office software. Must be able to multi‑task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, demonstrate attention to detail, and exhibit problem‑solving skills. Must adhere to all company policy and procedures. Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned and meet client‑specific safety standards. Must be available to work assigned schedules. Preferred Qualifications Prior military experience. HS diploma or GED equivalent. Work Environment Works in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. May require visits to or working from construction sites. Physical Demands This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Travel May require travel (typically not overnight).
