About the Role:

Candis Inc in Roanoke, VA is looking for a compassionate and dedicated State Licensed Medication Aide (SLMA) to join our caring team. Responsibilities:

  • Administer prescribed medications to residents accurately and in accordance with state regulations and facility policies
  • Document medication administration and report any changes in resident condition to nursing staff
  • Monitor residents for adverse reactions or side effects and escalate concerns promptly
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care as needed
  • Maintain accurate medication records and ensure proper medication storage and handling
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary care team members
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and compliance protocols within the facility

Requirements:

  • Valid Virginia State License as a Medication Aide (SLMA) required
  • Current CNA certification preferred or required per facility guidelines
  • Prior experience in a long-term care, assisted living, or residential care setting preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication administration accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a resident-centered approach
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a care team
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
