Software Engineer

Compensation: $120,000-$300,000 based on experience, plus equity Location: Sunnyvale, CA Role Title: Software Engineer, Full Stack About the Company Figwork is building an AI headhunter for the modern hiring market. We help companies find qualified candidates through richer talent data, candidate conversations, assessments, and AI-powered matching instead of relying only on resumes and job boards. We work with both sides of the market: candidates looking for the right opportunities, and companies looking for people who are qualified, interested, and ready to talk. We are starting with a large early-career talent network of U.S. college students and recent graduates, and we are building the infrastructure to turn that network into a high-quality, data-driven hiring marketplace. We are hiring a full-stack Software Engineer to help build the core product and technical foundation of Figwork. You will work across frontend, backend, data systems, and AI-powered workflows to ship the systems that power candidate onboarding, company workflows, matching, ranking, and recruiter tools. What You Will Own End-to-end ownership of core product systems across frontend, backend, data, and AI workflows Building full-stack features for candidate onboarding, company dashboards, recruiter tools, and marketplace operations Integrating AI and LLM-based matching components into production product flows Designing interfaces between models and application logic, including confidence scores, fallbacks, human review, and edge cases Building systems that turn candidate conversations, assessments, profiles, and employer requirements into usable hiring signals Designing marketplace logic for cold start, candidate ranking, recruiter feedback, task routing, quality control, and retry flows Improving reliability, latency, observability, and data quality across the product Making early architectural decisions that shape the long-term technical foundation of Figwork Who We Are Looking For 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong track record of shipping products Strong full-stack experience across frontend, backend, databases, APIs, and cloud infrastructure Experience with modern web technologies such as React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, and cloud platforms Experience building user-facing products where reliability, speed, and product judgment matter Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment where requirements change quickly and ownership is broad Understanding of how AI or LLM-based systems behave in production, including latency, variance, evaluation, and failure modes Experience with recommendation systems, marketplace products, recruiting technology, or data-heavy workflows is a strong plus Strong product sense and willingness to work close to users, not just code from a spec Why Join Figwork Build the technical foundation of an early-stage AI marketplace from the ground up Work on a real two-sided marketplace with candidates, companies, matching, ranking, and feedback loops Collaborate with academic AI researchers while staying focused on production systems Own major product and architecture decisions early Join a small team where your work directly shapes the company Compensation and Benefits Pay: $120,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year, based on experience #J-18808-Ljbffr Figwork
