Position Summary The Surgical Tech is responsible for assisting with direct patient care activities in the Operating Room. The role includes preparing and stocking the OR before and after surgery, gathering clean and sterile supplies, setting sterile instrument fields, maintaining and monitoring aseptic techniques, assisting with orientation of new staff, and participating on departmental committees. The position may require floating between UCI Health locations as needed. Applicants Applicants with less than two years of experience may be considered for the Surgical Tech (8931) with a pay range of $32.01–$39.78. Applicants with two or more years of experience may be considered for the Sr. Surgical Tech (8930) with a pay range of $34.64–$43.07. Required Qualifications Required to float between UCI Health locations as needed Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties in an acute care facility Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology BLS required Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology Preferred Qualifications Scrub Technician Certification Licenses & Certifications Basic Life Support Conditions of Employment Background Check and Live Scan Employment Misconduct Legal Right to Work in the United States Vaccination Policies Smoking and Tobacco Policy Drug Free Environment Misconduct Disclosure Requirement: The final candidate who accepts a conditional offer of employment will be required to disclose any adjudicated or concluded findings of misconduct within the last seven years, any allegations or ongoing proceedings involving misconduct, any resignation following allegations or under investigation, or an appeal of a finding of misconduct with a previous employer.
