All team members receive a competitive base salary and compensation package -- this is Total Rewards. Employees enjoy multiple wealth-building opportunities through our annual stock grant, employee stock purchase plan, 401(k), and access to free, year-round money coaches. That’s how we’re UNSTOPPABLE for our employees! At T-Mobile, we don’t just participate in industry conversations — we shape them. We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Communications to lead strategic market intelligence and narrative efforts that strengthen T-Mobile’s reputation and reinforce our leadership across wireless, broadband, technology, and customer experience. This role sits at the intersection of communications strategy, market intelligence, media relations, and storytelling. The successful candidate will monitor industry developments, market activity, and emerging trends, translating complex information into communications strategies that advance business priorities and reinforce T-Mobile’s position as an industry leader. This is not a traditional PR role. Success requires equal parts strategist, storyteller, analyst, and operator. You’ll connect dots others don’t see, identify opportunities before they become obvious, and help shape conversations around some of the most important topics affecting our industry. You won’t simply react to what’s happening around you — you’ll anticipate what’s next. This role operates across two speeds — building long-term narrative strategies while staying ready to move quickly when the moment calls for it, from months-long communications programs to same-day responses to breaking industry developments. You’ll partner closely with teams across Communications, Marketing, Social, Social Insights, Product, Network, Legal, Government Affairs, Care, and executive leadership to uncover insights, develop narratives, create compelling stories, and ensure T-Mobile’s voice is present in the moments and conversations that matter most. This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office, consistent with company policy. This position may be located in Bellevue, WA.This role sits within T-Mobile’s Corporate Communication, Reputation and Public Affairs team and will be part of an on-call team, so some work outside standard business hours may be required. While the majority of work occurs during normal business hours, flexibility supports a team that operates in a fast-moving, always-on environment.Responsibilities:Market Intelligence & Strategic InsightsMonitor industry trends, market developments, customer issues, regulatory activity, technology innovation, and other external factors that may create communications opportunities or risks.Translate complex developments into actionable insights, recommendations, executive briefings, and communications strategies.Develop and maintain reporting, dashboards, trackers, and intelligence products that inform communications planning and decision-making.Identify emerging themes, narratives, and opportunities before they become widely recognized.Strategic Narrative DevelopmentDevelop messaging frameworks and narrative strategies that reinforce T-Mobile’s leadership, differentiation, innovation, and customer-first approach.Identify opportunities to shape industry conversations and reframe narratives in ways that highlight T-Mobile’s strengths and perspective.Develop counter-narrative strategies that address misinformation, correct the record, and ensure accurate information reaches key audiences.Partner across the organization to ensure communications efforts are aligned, consistent, and impactful.Create compelling messaging that simplifies complex topics and resonates with diverse audiences.Rapid Storytelling & Media InfluenceLead proactive communications initiatives tied to industry developments, market trends, research, and emerging news.Develop story packages, executive messaging, thought leadership content, talking points, presentations, media materials, and other communications assets.Identify opportunities to elevate T-Mobile’s perspective through earned media, executive visibility, industry conversations, and third-party engagement.Develop and execute creative, campaign-style communications programs that generate attention, shape narratives, and drive earned coverage from concept through execution.Build and maintain strong relationships with reporters, analysts, influencers, and other external stakeholders.Strategic Influence & External EngagementBuild and maintain strong relationships across media, industry, analyst, policy, and influencer communities.Identify opportunities to elevate credible external perspectives and foster informed conversations around issues important to customers and the industry.Provide strategic counsel on complex or sensitive external engagements, helping ensure key audiences have the context needed to understand evolving issues and developments.Develop creative approaches that increase visibility for important company priorities and strengthen understanding of T-Mobile’s perspective in the marketplace.Anticipate emerging conversations and identify opportunities to engage early, thoughtfully, and effectively.Enterprise Partnership & Strategic CounselServe as a trusted communications advisor to leaders across the business.Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Network, Legal, Government Affairs, and other teams to align communications strategies with business priorities.Manage agency partners and external resources supporting strategic communications initiatives.Partner closely with Social and Social Insights teams to connect real-time platform signals, audience sentiment, and trending conversations to communications strategy and narrative development.Support executive preparedness through strategic guidance, briefing materials, and communications planning.Team Development & Agency ResourcesBuild and develop a high-performing team as the function grows, fostering a culture of curiosity, speed, and strategic rigor.Lead and manage extensive agency partnerships across intelligence, research, creative, and strategic communications — setting direction, managing performance, and ensuring resources are deployed effectively.Measurement & Continuous ImprovementEstablish goals, KPIs, and reporting frameworks to measure the impact of communications programs.Evaluate industry trends, campaign performance, and emerging opportunities to continuously improve strategy and execution.Identify and implement new tools, technologies, and best practices that strengthen communications effectiveness.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.7-10 years of experience in communications, public relations, journalism, public affairs, marketing communications, or a related field.Experience building, developing and leading a communications team and agency partners required.Demonstrated success developing and executing strategic communications programs in a fast-paced corporate environment, agency, newsroom, or public affairs organization.Deep understanding of the media and influencer landscape, including reporter beats, coverage preferences, and what drives story interest across national, business, trade, and digital outlets.Experience with third-party advocacy strategy, engagement, and direct and indirect influence programs that advance a communications objective through credible external voices.Exceptional writing, editing, messaging, and storytelling skills.Experience translating complex business, technology, regulatory, or industry topics into compelling communications strategies.Demonstrated executive presence and a track record of advising and influencing senior leaders, including during high-pressure situations requiring rapid judgment and clear, confident counsel.Experience managing cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders across large organizations.Telecommunications, technology, media, consumer technology, or related industry experience preferred.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesIntensely curious. Doesn’t just follow headlines, but understands what is driving them, where conversations are heading, and what they may mean tomorrow.Consumes information differently than most and studies industries, business trends, culture, technology, media, and public sentiment, constantly looking for connections and opportunities others miss.Exceptional instincts for timing and knows when to engage, when to wait, and when to help shape a conversation.Understands that influence doesn’t always come from the loudest voice; knows how to identify credible validators, build relationships, and bring the right voices into the conversation.Expert at finding unexpected angles, creating relevance, and turning emerging developments into meaningful opportunities.Understands how narratives are formed, how they spread, and how they evolve across traditional media, digital platforms, policymakers, influencers, analysts, and consumers. Can quickly assess complex situations and develop thoughtful recommendations, often with incomplete information and under tight deadlines.Equal parts strategist and operator -- comfortable developing a long-term approach while also executing in the moment.Understands that every conversation matters -- whether engaging a reporter, analyst, executive, partner, or stakeholder, knows how relationships are built and how trust is earned over time. Not satisfied with simply responding to the environment; constantly looking for ways to influence it.At least 18 years of ageLegally authorized to work in the United StatesTravel:Travel Required (Yes/No): YesDOT Regulated:DOT Regulated Position (Yes/No): NoSafety Sensitive Position (Yes/No): NoTotal Target Cash Earnings Opportunity: $138,120 - $249,120National Base Pay Range: $115,100 - $207,600The Total Target Cash Earnings Opportunity represents the expected total cash compensation for this role at target performance, combining base salary and annual incentive opportunity.
