Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, directing, implementing, and evaluating all aspects of nursing care in an assigned unit for residents ages 7-17. Adheres to Nursing Standards and Policies, Facility Policies and Procedures, the Nurse Practice Act, and maintain patient safety.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
• Must be licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or have a multi-state license
• Prefer experience with children and adolescents in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program. New nurses will be considered.
• Demonstrates knowledge of risk factors for violence and determining potential for violent acting out and ability to assess suicidal/homicidal ideations.
• Good verbal and written skills, ability to rotate shifts and programs as necessary, ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information.
