Laboratory Technician - Eurofins Environment Testing, Air Toxics, Folsom, CA

Position Eurofins Environment Testing Northern California, Air Toxics is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team! The Laboratory Technician is responsible for contributing toward meeting the production and quality goals of the laboratory. The Laboratory Technician works under the guidance of the Department Manager and Lead Scientist(s). This is a high throughput production position and the team member is expected to communicate production and technical issues to the leadership in a timely manner. Responsibilities Assist in preparing media and sampling kits for delivery to clients and ensure accurate and timely documentation of sample log‑in, labeling, and routing. Properly dispose of samples and waste in accordance with all applicable procedures. Conduct initial sample screening and classification as required. Prepare samples and standards as required. Perform additional support tasks and duties as assigned by the Laboratory Lead or Supervisor. Maintain accuracy and attention to detail. Meet the physical requirements of the job. Adhere to safety protocol. Demonstrate good organizational skills, versatility, flexibility, and efficiency. Use time effectively in managing multiple priorities. Interpret and understand oral or written instructions. Perform other support duties as assigned. Work collaboratively with all departments. Complete additional duties as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting. Strong mechanical aptitude. Initiative and ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment. Good communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills. Positive attitude toward quality control, safety, high production work and organized thought process. Teamwork and ability to work closely with all departments. Knowledge of internet software and the Microsoft Office Suite. Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing and speaking. Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship. Skills and Abilities Adherence to safety protocol and procedure. Effective communication with coworkers and management. Read, understand and comply with SOPs. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds continuously and stand for prolonged periods. Perform moderate physical work such as bending and using hands and arms repetitively. Push carts weighing up to 50 pounds. Hearing and speaking for effective listening and speaking with individuals in person or by phone. Hazardous Material Handling The Eurofins Air Toxics laboratory houses chemicals necessary for the analysis of environmental samples. The chemicals can be harmful if not properly handled. This position requires the safe handling and transport of bulk chemicals, including cryogenic dewars of liquid nitrogen, compressed gases such as helium, nitrogen and hydrogen, sharps and liquid solvents such as methylene chloride, acetonitrile and acetone. The employee will read and reference the Chemical Hygiene Plan and Injury and Illness Prevention Program for additional information and instruction. Compensation $18 – $20 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Schedule Full‑time. Schedule to be determined, likely 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with flexibility to work 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. once trained. Overtime and weekends as needed.
