Advanced LPN | Licensed Practical Nurse - Clinic

Join a dedicated healthcare team in a regional medical facility serving the heart of the Midwest. This full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role supports physicians and mid-level providers by delivering patient assessments, treatments, testing, and education within a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to clinic policies ensuring patient safety, including infection control and safe patient handling.
• Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes as prescribed.
• Assist providers during procedures, maintain sterile fields, and manage instrument trays.
• Support examinations within the scope of licensure and perform phone triage.
• Serve as a liaison between patients and providers, communicating test results and answering patient inquiries.
• Document patient complaints and visit details accurately according to provider preferences.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs including height and weight.
• Manage and update patient medication lists and summaries.
• Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered.
• Educate patients on electronic health record tools and provide supportive teaching.
• Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including obtaining necessary precertifications and authorizations.
• Train new LPNs and medical assistants in clinic protocols.
• Demonstrate accountability, adaptability, teamwork, and maintain punctuality and attendance standards.

Education

Graduation from an accredited LPN program and completion of an approved IV therapy course are required.

Experience

Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Certifications and Licenses

Must hold a current LPN license valid in the state of practice. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This role demands considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to infectious diseases and occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur. Exposure to communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is common, with minimal physical discomfort expected.
