Scientific Business Analyst

Atlas is seeking a Scientific Business Analyst with strong data, technical, and laboratory informatics experience to support Research & Development technology initiatives. This role will work closely with scientists, business stakeholders, and technical teams to translate laboratory workflows and research data needs into clear requirements and scalable technology solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of business analysis, scientific data knowledge, cloud and database concepts, and direct LIMS experience within a research environment. Key Responsibilities Translate laboratory workflows and business needs into documented requirements, problem statements, process flows, and user stories. Partner with scientists, business stakeholders, and technical teams to define and clarify functional and data requirements. Map data flows across systems and identify key data elements, interfaces, and dependencies. Develop and maintain data mapping documentation, data dictionaries, and related requirements artifacts. Build and maintain requirements traceability between business requirements and test cases. Support testing and validation activities by ensuring requirements are accurately reflected in test scenarios. Use SQL, Python, AI-enabled tools, and other analytical methods to investigate and understand research data. Support initiatives involving data lakes, databases, and research data platforms. Collaborate with technical teams working within AWS environments, including EC2, S3, and Lambda. Support solution discussions involving containerization, microservices, and cloud-hosted applications. Contribute to LIMS-related development and implementation activities within a scientific research environment. Required Qualifications Strong Business Analyst experience supporting scientific, laboratory, or R&D technology initiatives. Experience translating complex laboratory workflows into clear business and functional requirements. Strong experience with data flow mapping, data mapping, and data dictionary documentation. Experience developing and maintaining requirements traceability matrices. Working knowledge of SQL and Python for data investigation and analysis. Familiarity with AI tools and data analysis techniques. Understanding of data lake principles and common database technologies used in research environments. Understanding of AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, and Lambda. Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker. Understanding of microservices architecture. Direct experience with LIMS development or implementation. Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Sapio LIMS. Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences R&D organizations. Experience working with scientific data platforms and laboratory informatics solutions. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across scientific, business, and technical teams. #J-18808-Ljbffr Atlas
