Job Summary In addition to the responsibilities outlined below, the Pharmacy Technician is an invaluable member of the hospital team who works directly with the Veterinarian team, Veterinary Technician team and the Customer Service Representative team. Basic Qualifications Must have 2-5 years experience in veterinary medicine Current WA state veterinary technician license preferred, but not required. Pharmacy experience or background preferred. Knowledge of medication names, dosages and pharmaceutical calculations required. Proficient computer skills, including experience with prescription order entry systems, as well as office equipment such as fax machines, label printers, and multi line phone systems Familiarity with legal guidelines and safety regulations in pharmacy practices and controlled substances Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills Ability to problem solve and have critical thinking skills Must currently have or be able to obtain WA State Medication Clerk License Ability to work from a mostly sedentary position with heavy computer and phone use. Job Responsibilities Pharmacy duties Manages prescriptions requested by clients from practice management software, online portals and email.
