Job Description
Number of Beds : 12-beds
• Patient Ratios : 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 (depends on patient acuity)
• Unit staffing description- (Charge nurse typically out of the numbers, unit secretary available on most days, staff RNs) :
• Type of equipment : Phillips monitoring system, Edwards Hemosphere, Alaris IV pumps
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Scheduling requirements: Rotating weekends (weekends are considered F, Sa, Sun)
• Floating policy: May be required to float outside of the department for hospital needs (e.g., ICU, step-down ICU, PCU)
• Patient Experience requirements: Exceptional bedside manner, able to communicate effectively with patients and families, able to multi-task and interact with other members of the interdisciplinary team.

Hospital Specifics-
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Advanced skills needed: Able to safely care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, titrate vasoactive medications and other drips as required to maintain hemodynamic parameters and/or sedation requirements, competent in recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing advanced access devices (e.g., a-line, CVCs, Swan-ganz catheters, etc.), working in a team atmosphere, and working collaboratively with members of the interdisciplinary team.

Procedures performed on unit: CABG, AVR, TAVR, Watchman, A-fib cardiac ablations, VATS, PCI with stent, Hemodynamic support with IABP and Impella devices, etc.
