Role: Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care Cardiology (Night shift)
Setting: General Cardiology Floor (Non-ICU) - step-down/cardiology unit
Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Duration: 24 weeks (July 1, 2026 - December 16, 2026)
Number of Openings: 3 locum tenens NP positions
EMR: Cerner (experience with Cerner preferred)

Job Requirements

Minimum 1 year experience as a Nurse Practitioner in cardiology or acute care (cardiology NP preferred)
Active North Carolina Nurse Practitioner license (must be valid for the assignment)
Active North Carolina DEA registration
Ability and willingness to work night shifts
Strong clinical documentation skills; Cerner experience a plus
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with interdisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities

Round daily on floor-level cardiology patients admitted to or seen in consultation on the general cardiology service line
Document and maintain accurate clinical records: daily progress notes, event notes, admission H&Ps, consult notes, and discharge summaries
Order and manage medications, diagnostic testing, and procedures as clinically indicated
Perform new consults and collaborate closely with attending physicians
Work collaboratively with hospitalist medicine, cardiology, pulmonary/critical care, and cardiovascular surgery teams
Deliver compassionate, high-quality acute cardiac care to step-down and cardiology unit patients
