Principal Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: $103,000 - 169,720 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 10 years of technical experience in enterprise server, storage, or cloud environments.
• Minimum 2 years in a senior or principal-level position.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of enterprise compute systems, storage arrays, hyperconverged infrastructure, cloud platform services, and server virtualization.
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Solid understanding of network topologies, communication protocols, application delivery controllers, load balancers, and firewalls.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor infrastructure engineers and administrators.
• Advanced infrastructure certifications are preferred.

• Research, recommend, design, and implement complex multi-vendor infrastructure solutions.
• Analyze business and technical needs to identify design challenges and deliver effective solutions.
• Develop secure, resilient, scalable infrastructure across servers, storage, network, and cloud environments.
• Create strategic and tactical engineering roadmaps for assigned technologies and services.
• Design, maintain, and optimize server, storage, and application hosting infrastructure for performance and availability.
• Advise on technology platforms in a strategic, resilient, secure, and cost-effective manner.
• Assess requirements for new and existing products and determine the best hosting setup in hybrid environments.
• Collaborate with technical architects to align strategic designs with existing infrastructure.
• Prototype and evaluate emerging compute, storage, and cloud technologies.
• Lead and support infrastructure teams in building, managing, and maintaining solutions in line with our policies.
• Oversee or advise on mid- to large-scale, complex infrastructure projects.
• Promote modern IT practices centered on standardization, automation, and artificial intelligence.
• Mentor senior infrastructure team members and strengthen a culture of technical excellence.
• Build cross-functional partnerships to align infrastructure design with business, security, resiliency, and architectural standards.
• Provide strong leadership, communication, and project management while balancing multiple priorities.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
