Regional Nurse Manager Concierge Medicine
Private Medical
Registered Nurse Manager
Regional nurse manager territory: Silicon Valley & Los Angeles (frequent travel required to support both offices).
Longevity: We are seeking a nurse leader who is looking for a long-term professional home and is excited to build lasting relationships with patients and colleagues over the coming years.
Private Medical is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse Manager to lead our Menlo Park and Los Angeles nursing teams.
This is an opportunity for a nurse leader who wants to step away from the pace and complexity of traditional hospital medicine and into a more thoughtful model of care...one built around long-term patient relationships, clinical excellence, collaboration, and time to do things well.
At Private Medical, our physicians care for a deliberately limited number of members, allowing our teams to know patients deeply and provide highly personalized, relationship-centered care. Our practice is an established, sophisticated medical environment where nurses and medical assistants work closely with physicians and other clinicians to deliver an exceptional experience at every point of care.
We are looking for a leader who is equally passionate about people and clinical excellencesomeone who can develop a strong nursing team, maintain rigorous clinical standards, and help create an environment where excellent nurses want to build their careers.
Why This Role is Different:
If you are an experienced nurse leader who is tired of managing in environments where everything is about volume, staffing shortages, and putting out fires, this may be a very different kind of leadership opportunity.
Here, you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead and develop a talented team of RNs, MAs, and CPTs
- Build strong, lasting relationships with patients, physicians, and colleagues
- Partner closely with physicians and site leadership on clinical care and practice improvement
- Establish and maintain a culture of patient safety and clinical excellence
- Develop your team through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and professional development
- Improve clinical workflows and introduce thoughtful, evidence-based practices
- Help shape how nursing operates within a growing, physician-led organization
- Work in an environment where quality of care matters more than volume
- Become part of a team that values professionalism, curiosity, collaboration, and exceptional service
What You'll Lead:
- Clinical Leadership and Patient Safety: Provide strong clinical leadership and direction to nursing staff at assigned locations, championing a culture of patient safety and adherence to best practices.
- Procedure Safety and Compliance: Ensure consistent application of safety protocols and guidelines across all clinical procedures, monitoring compliance and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Clinical Specialities: Oversee the specialties for the assigned locations, for example gynecology. This includes policies, procedures, laboratory testing, specimen handling, specialized equipment purchases, training and cleaning procedures. Collaborate with the CMO and specialists for specific departmental goals and needs.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive clinical policies, procedures, and protocols that align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals.
- Staff Management and Development: Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluation, and professional development of nursing staff within the assigned region and/or locations. Direct reports may range from 10-25 staff members including RNs, MAs, LVNs and other licensed and unlicensed personnel supporting clinical needs, inventory and phlebotomy (referred to as the nursing team).
- Performance Optimization: Collaborate with site leadership and human resources to optimize nursing staff performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Staffing Strategy and Efficiency: Partner with leadership to analyze staffing needs, develop efficient and cost-effective staffing models, and implement strategies to ensure appropriate coverage across all clinical sites.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data to monitor key performance indicators, identify trends, and develop strategies to improve clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Quality Improvement Initiatives: Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives, utilizing data to identify trends, implement evidence-based practices, and measure outcomes.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration among nursing staff, physicians, administrative teams, and other stakeholders across the region.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all nursing practices and documentation adhere to relevant federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Private Medical policies and procedures.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve clinical and operational issues related to nursing staff and patient care in a timely and effective manner.
- Budget Oversight: Participate in the development and management of nursing department budgets for assigned locations, ensuring responsible resource allocation.
- Organizational Collaboration: Actively collaborate with other Regional Nurse Managers to ensure consistently across sites and provide cross coverage.
- Organizational Contribution: Actively participate in assigned committees, projects and tasks to support site and organizational needs.
About you:
- Active California RN license, current BLS certification, and valid California driver's license.
- Minimum of three (3) years of management experience and leading large teams.
- Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience, with demonstrated leadership or training responsibilities.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing clinical policies and procedures.
- Strong understanding of patient safety principles, quality improvement methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across different locations.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant healthcare technology.
- Ability to travel regularly to assigned clinical sites.
Whats in it for you?
- A competitive starting salary commensurate with experience and skills
- 401(k) with a match (up to 3% of salary)
- Robust health benefits and paid time off
- 10 paid holidays off & 1 floating holiday
- ...and most importantly more time to provide outstanding care for patients and work with great colleagues!
