Engineering Supervisor

Polk County, Oregon

ABOUT THE JOB

The Engineering Supervisor provides strategic leadership and technical oversight for the Engineering Division within the Public Works Department. This role is responsible for managing a team of professional engineers, and technicians to ensure the safe, efficient, and sustainable development of county infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and drainage systems. As a key leader, you will bridge the gap between high-level policy and technical execution, ensuring all projects comply with Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS), environmental regulations, and county standards.

WORK SCHEDULE

Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and seven (7) years engineering/planning experience, with two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

REQUIRED SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess and maintain a professional engineering license valid in the State of Oregon. Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon driver's license. In recent decades, the valley has also become a major wine producer, with Polk County being one of the best in the area. The valley is often known as the “Oregon Wine Country.” Polk County has over 25 wineries alone. Polk County also houses the beautiful liberal arts college, Western Oregon University (WOU), and is only 30 miles from Oregon State University.
