RESEARCH SCIENTIST 1, CHUNG LAB Picower Institute for Learning and Memory, is a pivotal role responsible for generating spatial transcriptomic and proteomic optical imaging data of human and non‑human primate brains, utilizing the novel technology pipeline established by the Chung Lab, including tissue processing, molecular probe staining, and volumetric data acquisition using light sheet microscopes. Responsibilities Independently conduct experiments and optimize various protocols to ensure successful and consistent results. Work closely with collaborating teams across the center to conduct necessary protocol validation experiments. Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and key personnel of the Center to meet milestone timelines via routine updates meeting with Project Teams/Programs/Cores for the center. Assist with preparation of quarterly/annual progress reports for funded research projects. Ensure timely data generation and experimental research progress. Independently conduct and lead experiments to meet the requirement of overall center goals with assistance from junior research staff. Participate in research activities taking place in lab. Monitor project deadlines and coordinate with PI/Key Personnel of the center. Qualifications Ph.D. in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, material science, biology, chemistry, or related scientific field. Minimum five years of experience working in a large research laboratory. Strong technical/scientific writing skills. Experience with research/grant proposal development, writing and editing.
