Step into a rewarding role supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities in a dynamic school-based setting near North Lakewood, WA. This contract physical therapy opportunity runs ASAP through the end of the school year, providing essential PT services across multiple school sites. With an itinerant schedule and a manageable 16 hours per week, you’ll make a significant impact while maintaining flexibility.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in the state of Washington
- Prior experience working with school-aged children, especially those with moderate to severe disabilities
- Understanding of IEP processes and specialized instruction within educational settings
- Strong communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel between multiple school locations as required by the itinerant nature of the role
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver physical therapy sessions and interventions tailored to individual student needs, focusing on enhancing mobility, motor skills, and accessibility
- Assess, develop, and implement IEP goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide consultation, training, and resources to teachers and school staff to support students’ integration and participation
- Document and report on student progress in accordance with school and district guidelines
- Adapt tools, equipment, and strategies as needed to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
