Data Governance Lead

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Lead to drive data governance initiatives with a strong focus on Metadata Management, Data Lineage, Data Catalog, and Data Quality Governance. This role will be responsible for establishing governance frameworks, ensuring end-to-end visibility of critical data assets, and enabling trusted data for analytics, reporting, AI, and regulatory compliance.

Locations: Phoenix, AZ (Local Candidate) Duration: 6 Months Pay Range: $40 - $45/Hour on W2/C2C (All inclusive)

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5-6 years of experience in data governance or related fields
• Strong focus on Metadata Management, Data Lineage, and Data Quality Governance
• Experience in establishing governance frameworks and driving adoption across the enterprise
• Ability to engage with both business stakeholders and technology teams
• Prior work experience in the client's industry
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise data catalog tools
• Knowledge of regulatory, audit, and risk management requirements
• Leadership experience in data governance councils and working sessions

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and adoption of enterprise metadata management capabilities
• Define and maintain business, technical, and operational metadata standards
• Drive onboarding of critical data assets into the enterprise data catalog
• Develop and maintain end-to-end data lineage across various platforms
• Collaborate with engineering teams to automate lineage capture and visualization
• Establish governance processes for metadata stewardship, ownership, and lifecycle management
