Come work for North America Central where your skills are valued, and your contribution appreciated./ph3Job Purpose/h3pAssist the driver in the safe operation of the route and manage students as defined/identified by school./ph3Major Responsibilities/h3ulliAbility to learn and follow a route sheet or electronic routing device/liliIs responsible for student management and communicates behavior problems with the driver/liliAssists in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, including child checks, CSRS and wheelchair lifts/liliAssists students in the loading and unloading process including wheelchair lift/liliCooperates and communicates with school personnel, parents and students./liliAttend all safety and training meetings./liliConducts emergency evacuation from the bus, including exiting from the emergency door./liliCleans the insides of the bus including sweeping, dusting and cleaning windows./liliOther specialized functions as required by contract./li/ulh3Minimum Education Certifications Required/h3ulliHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred/li/ulh3Requirements Expectations/h3ulliGood verbal communication skills./liliThe ability to work early morning hours./liliMust maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward fellow employees and customers./liliDress in a professional and appropriate manner for a business environment./liliPerform all job functions in the safest manner adhering to OSHA guidelines other applicable Federal State laws/liliExecute all job duties while following company policy and procedure/liliAbility to use or learn to use internet, additional programs as required and office equipment, including fax and phones or other electronic devices/li/ulh3Physical Requirements Working Conditions (include amount of travel)/h3ulliAbility to successfully complete dexterity test and DOT physical and comply with drug free workplace policy/liliSchool bus yard /Office/On-the-road Physical requirements include:/liliOpening service door, emergency door, bus hood, windows, wheelchair maneuvering, student evacuations dragging up to 120 lbs and for up to 40 feet./liliLifting Trash box, challenged passengers into their seats, assistive devices, emergency equipment. Up to 40 lbs./liliCrossing lot, up and down bus aisle, around exterior of bus/liliSitting up to 2-3 hours/liliClimbing steps in and out of bus multiple times a day/liliReaching applying tie-downs, safety vests, car seats, opening emergency door from ground, checking roof hatch/liliGripping doors, knobs, switches, handles, etc./liliDetecting problems with passengers on bus, emergency vehicles, unusual engine noises, normal conversation/liliPre-trip inspection, applying tie-downs, sweeping, checking for sleeping/liliReading street signs, route sheets/liliCommunicating via the English language with passengers, parents, school officials, dispatch, and driver/li/ulpNorth America Central School Bus is an EEO/AA employer fully committed to achieving a diverse workforce.
