Maintenance Technician – Heavy Duty Trucks
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and equipment. This position is ideal for someone with strong diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel trucks and heavy-duty equipment
- Repair hydraulic, electrical, brake, air, suspension, steering, and drivetrain systems
- Perform maintenance and repairs on refuse/garbage truck bodies and hydraulic systems
- Complete preventative maintenance and vehicle safety inspections
- Respond to emergency breakdown/service calls as needed
- Document repairs, labor time, and parts used
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Assist with additional fleet maintenance and repair projects
Requirements
- 3+ years of heavy-duty truck technician/mechanic experience
- Valid driver's license
- Strong diesel and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and work indoors/outdoors
- Must be 21+
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
Preferred
- Class B CDL or higher
- ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1–T8)
- Previous refuse/garbage truck maintenance experience
Schedule: 40 hours per week + 1–2 Saturdays per month
We are looking for a dependable, safety-focused technician who can work independently, troubleshoot problems, and be a strong part of the maintenance team.
