Deli Clerk

The Deli Clerk is responsible for maintaining fast, accurate service, positive guest relations, and ensuring products are consistent with company quality standards and the Deli Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with health code, safety, and security procedures
• Ensures food quality and 100% customer satisfaction
• Assists with production flow in all areas of Deli department
• Assists with physical inventory
• Receive, verify, and stock vendor deliveries
• Stand and/or walk up to eight hours per day
• Lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead for up to 30 minutes per day. (e.g., stocking and maintaining inventory levels)
• Be exposed to occasional cold temperature extremes while performing occasional work in a walk-in cooler and/or freezer
• Other duties as assigned by Store Manager, Assistant Manager, and/or Deli Manager

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Team player with store and departmental interests at heart
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which may require evening and weekend shifts
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Problem solving skills and abilities
• Proficient with a telephone, cash register, fuel console, money order machine, microwave, grill, nacho machine, coffee grinder, etc.
• Ability to be the ABC manager on duty
• Ability to perform the essential duties and to work under the conditions described
• Experience in kitchen/catering food production and retail food service preferred.

$13.00 - $15.00/hour
