Our client is an established consumer business with a strong reputation in its market and ambitious plans for continued growth across the United States. The company has reached an important stage in its development and is looking to strengthen its operational leadership. The Head of Operations will play a key role in improving performance, developing the team, and putting in place the processes and structure needed to support the next phase of growth. This is a broad leadership position suited to someone who enjoys being close to the operation and can combine strategic thinking with practical execution.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day operational performance across the business, ensuring teams are working effectively and consistently.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, service levels, and overall business performance.
• Review existing processes and ways of working and introduce practical improvements where needed.
• Establish clear operational reporting, performance measures, and accountability across the organization.
• Lead, coach, and develop operational managers and team members, building a strong and capable leadership structure.
• Work closely with other functions across the business to improve communication, planning, and execution.
• Manage operational budgets, costs, resources, and performance against agreed financial objectives.
• Review the existing organizational structure and identify opportunities to improve responsibilities, workflows, and resource allocation.
• Support the continued growth of the business by developing processes and systems that can scale effectively.
• Build productive relationships with relevant external partners and suppliers.
• Remain actively involved in operational challenges and priorities rather than managing solely through layers of leadership.
• Play a key role in translating wider business objectives into clear operational plans and measurable results.

Requirements

• A genuinely hands-on operations leader who is comfortable remaining close to the day-to-day business.
• Strong senior operations leadership experience within a customer-focused B2C organization.
• Experience leading teams across different locations, functions, or areas of responsibility.
• Strong commercial and financial understanding, including significant responsibility for budgets, costs, profitability, or P&L performance.
• Demonstrated experience improving operational processes, productivity, service, and business performance.
• Experience leading managers as well as broader operational teams.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally and taking ownership of issues that extend beyond a single operational discipline.

Preferred Experience

• A track record of scaling and improving operations rather than solely managing an established operation.
• Experience introducing greater structure, processes, and accountability within a growing business.
• A coaching and mentoring leadership style, with a strong focus on developing people and building effective teams.
• Broad operational experience that extends beyond a single focus area.
• Experience working across multiple operational functions and balancing people, commercial, customer, and performance priorities.
• Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment where senior leaders are expected to be both strategic and hands-on.

 

Benefits

• Base salary in the range of $140,000 to $165,000, commensurate with experience,
• Performance-based bonus.
