Job Summary The Acute Care Patient Care Technician is responsible for delivering direct patient care within the scope of a Certified Nursing Assistant license. Duties include vital sign monitoring, cardiac telemetry support, phlebotomy, wound care, assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation. The role requires effective communication, attention to detail, and the ability to respond promptly to patient needs. Education- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.
- One to two years of experience in a patient care setting, preferably acute care.
- Telemetry experience is advantageous.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) license valid in the state of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Medical Assistant Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Proficient in patient care practices and able to maintain required competencies.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate and professional demeanor.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic medical records.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry varying weights, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform physical tasks related to patient care. Work Environment This part-time, per diem position involves day shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The role supports a critical access hospital with emergency and trauma services, located in a scenic region known for outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, kayaking, and wildlife viewing.
