Duties

• Review detailed project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
• Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare precise pricing and bid proposals.
• Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground insights that inform accurate cost assessments and risk evaluations.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to negotiate contracts and scope of work.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets and implement cost control measures as needed.
• Prepare detailed bid packages, including pricing breakdowns, schedules, and material lists.
• Assist in contract negotiations and review contractual obligations related to project scope and costs.

Skills

• Minimum 3 years experience in estimating Civil Construction up to $10M
• Proficiency in construction estimating tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam is essential for accurate bid preparation.
• Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Solid understanding of construction management principles, including cost control, scheduling, and project delivery methods.
• Experience with construction site operations provides valuable insight into realistic pricing and resource planning.
• Knowledge of contracts, procurement processes, and legal considerations in construction projects.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with diverse teams across multiple projects.
• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines. • Review architectural and structural drawings, specs, schedules, contract documents, proposal drawings, structural calcs, and other info prepared by internal and outside sources for compliance with the bidding documents.
• Ability to prepare quality take-offs, analysis, estimates, and trend studies for self-perform and subcontractor scopes.
• Familiarity with CA prevailing wage and public works requirements.
