Registered Nurse (RN) - Adult TransitionsThis is a backfill opportunity for a Registered Nurse specializing in Adult Transitions. The role is focused on providing care to adult patients in various psychiatric units.Unit InformationUnit Types: Adolescent (ages 12-18), Serenity (lower acuity adult), ITU (higher acuity adult), SRAD (senior lifestyle), and VINE (lower acuity adult).Number of Beds: Adolescent - 18, Serenity - 24, ITU - 32, SRAD - 16, VINE - 9.Patient Ratios: Nurses 8 to 1, Mental Health Technicians 12 to 1.Documentation System: Meditech.Scheduling RequirementsThe position requires coverage for three 12-hour shifts each day, seven days a week, including weekends. Days off are not guaranteed unless specified in the contract.Required QualificationsCertifications: BLS and CPI.Skills:Ability to assess patients' mental health status, including recognition of psychiatric disorders and behavior issues.Care Planning: Development of individualized care plans based on patient needs.Medication Management: Administration of psychiatric medications and monitoring for side effects.Crisis Intervention: Immediate support for patients in crisis, including de-escalation techniques.Therapeutic Communication: Building trust with patients through effective communication and empathy.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse will be responsible for the following:Monitoring patients for physical and psychological symptoms, including vital signs and medication effects.Implementing individualized care and evaluating patient outcomes.Working collaboratively within a team to enhance the patient care experience.Dress CodeNurses are required to wear blue uniforms.
