Key Responsibilities Surface Preparation: Prepare wood, metal, fiberglass, and other surfaces for painting and varnishing. Preparation includes stripping, scuffing, sanding, masking, and priming surfaces, hardware, and windows. Tools: Use appropriate tools, such as hand and power tools, scraper, sandpaper, steel wool, or chemicals. Application: Apply paint, varnish, stain, gel coat, enamel, and lacquer, as appropriate, using various techniques. Ensure smooth and even application. Quality Control: Inspect finished product for defects and ensure compliance with company standards and customer satisfaction. Requirements Experience: Minimum three (3) years of painting experience, preferably in boat building and/or working with fiberglass. Technical Skills Knowledge and operation of basic hand and power tools; Sandpapers, paintbrushes, cleaning agents, tapes, grinders, surface sanders, DA and block sanders, polishers. Skilled in various painting techniques, including spray guns, brushes, and roller applications. Familiarity with matching and blending colors and achieving a smooth and even finish. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds and be on your feet for a prolonged period. Certifications: Must hold a valid driver’s license. Pre-Employment: All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment. Work Environment Location: On-site Conditions: Requires working under disagreeable conditions on a frequent basis, where elements such as dust, dirt, fumes, vibration, noise, and chemicals may be present.
