Job Title Lead Teacher Job Description A Lead Teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment, promoting the positive development of all children, planning, directing, and coordinating their academic and non‑academic activities. The teacher carries out learning objectives for children of all ages, greets parents and children during drop‑off and pick‑up, ensures all daily tasks are completed accurately and promptly—including diaper/potty training, laundry, cleaning, and stocking supplies—and follows state‑mandated child‑to‑staff ratios and other regulatory standards. Responsibilities Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment. Plan, direct, and coordinate academic and non‑academic activities. Carry out learning objectives for all ages. Greet parents and children at drop‑off and pick‑up. Complete daily tasks correctly and in a timely manner (diaper/potty training, laundry, cleaning tables, chairs, diapering/toileting areas, cleaning toys at naptime and end of shift, stocking supplies). Stay compliant with state‑mandated child‑to‑staff ratios and all federal, state, and accreditation regulations and standards. Education Minimum of 9 college credits related to early childhood or MOA Educational Waiver obtained upon hire. Current CDA credential (Child Development Associate Credential) or equivalent. Experience Preferred 1–2 years of related experience. Skills Excellent customer service skills. Strong time‑management, interpersonal, communication, organization, prioritization, decision‑making, and planning skills. Ability to perform under high‑pressure situations, such as morning drop‑off or afternoon pick‑up periods and shift overlaps. Health screening required; successful annual clearance from Family Care Safety Registry. Annual TB test required. At least 18 years of age. Initial T‑dap immunity. Licensure / Certification / Registration Must obtain Heartsaver Pediatric CPR/FA/AED certification within 30 days of hire.
