Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Lafayette, IN Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour Job Type: Full-time, Part-time Schedule: Consistent 1st or 2nd shift opportunities BrightStar Care of Fort Wayne is hiring compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide meaningful, one-on-one care in clients’ homes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced DSP, Caregiver, Home Health Aide (HHA), or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) seeking consistent hours, supportive leadership, and the opportunity to help individuals remain safe, comfortable, and independent. Qualifications High school diploma or GED At least one year of professional DSP, caregiving, or home care experience Current CPR certification Current physical examination and negative TB test completed within the past 12 months Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical duties of the position Ability to pass a background check and drug screen Dependable, compassionate, and committed to client safety Strong communication and documentation skills Commitment to protecting client privacy and following HIPAA requirements Responsibilities Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene Support clients with daily routines while encouraging independence Provide companionship and emotional support Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, and community activities Support mobility, transfers, and other safety needs Perform range-of-motion and mobility exercises according to the care plan Follow each client’s individualized plan of care Complete timely and accurate care documentation Observe and report changes in a client’s condition to the nurse case manager Protect each client’s dignity, safety, privacy, and personal choices What BrightStar Care Offers Competitive pay of $15.00 - $18.00 per hour Weekly pay with direct deposit Consistent 1st or 2nd shift opportunities Health, dental, and vision insurance for eligible employees Paid time off (PTO) Travel time reimbursement Free in-house training and skill development Support from a 24/7 on-call clinical team Employee referral bonuses Tuition reimbursement program Additional PRN opportunities At BrightStar Care, you are more than an employee—you are part of a supportive team committed to delivering a Higher Standard of Care.
