Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / Director of Finance
Affordable Movers
Location: In-Office / On-Site
Job Type: Full-Time

Affordable Movers is seeking an experienced, hands-on  Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / Director of Finance to lead the company’s financial operations, strengthen internal controls, improve profitability, and support continued company growth.

This is an  in-office position . Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available.

We are looking for a financial leader who can work directly with ownership, understand the numbers behind daily operations, and help the company make smarter financial decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, payroll oversight, accounting systems, tax compliance, and operational finance.

This role is a strong fit for someone who has worked as a CFO, Director of Finance, Corporate Controller, Senior Controller, or senior-level accounting/finance leader and is ready to take ownership of the full financial picture of a growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all financial operations for the company.
• Oversee accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Review company expenses and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
• Build financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs for ownership and leadership.
• Ensure accurate recordkeeping and compliance with tax, payroll, and financial regulations.
• Partner with operations, dispatch, HR, and leadership to improve financial performance across multiple locations.
• Review vendor costs, labor costs, equipment costs, truck expenses, insurance costs, and operational spending.
• Support company expansion by providing clear financial analysis and strategic recommendations.
• Work directly with ownership on long-term planning, growth strategy, and financial decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experience.
• Previous experience as a CFO, Director of Finance, Controller, or senior finance leader preferred.
• Strong understanding of cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, financial statements, and internal controls.
• Experience overseeing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on business environment.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, moving, home services, construction, or multi-location operations is a plus.
