Job Summary
Provides substance use assessment and treatment services to youth and their families.
This position is at the Social Impact Center Y, the social services branch of YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS). The mission of the Social Impact Center Y is to accelerate young people’s ability to build safe, successful, and happy lives. Every year, we serve 5,000 children, youth, young adults, and families across King County with programs that aim to strengthen young people’s ability to develop to their fullest potential through four strategies: reducing risk factors; navigating systems towards successful life transition; ensuring stability, safety and wellness in times of crisis; and building competencies and social capital. The Social Impact Center Y’s programs include housing, behavioral health, foster care licensing, violence prevention, education, and employment. Many of the young people we serve have had involvement in the foster care, criminal justice system, and/or homelessness systems.

Schedule: Monday-Friday; 9am-5pm with occasional flexibility for mornings or evenings
Responsibilities
Provides the catalyst for individuals to change through a comprehensive treatment plan, offering help, feedback, validation, and direction in the process of recovery.
Provides assessment, counseling, and case management services to individuals; including individual, group, family, and SUD educational services.
Develops and maintains individualized service plans and maintains clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and contract requirements.
Collaborates with other agency staff in the provision and integration of program services, case review, and consultation as needed.
Maintains a caseload of assigned individuals and families and utilizes evidence based practices whenever appropriate.
Is familiar with and utilizes the recovery and harm reduction models in assisting individuals and families.
Collaborates effectively with other professionals in order to meet the goals of the individual and family.
Maintains a working knowledge of current trends and developments in the field through continuing education and reading relevant materials.

Qualifications
1+ years’ experience providing community-based services to youth and families from a broad range of cultures and social needs.
Meets the minimum standards for Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) as defined by WAC 246-341.
Licensed by Washington State Department of Health as a SUDP.
Training and experience in individual, family, and group treatment modalities.
Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.
Ability to work independently and interdependently within a team management setting.
Direct experience and proficiency with computers, basic office software, and electronic health records.
Strong organizational skills with an attention to details, timelines, and follow-through.
Ability to meet with clients at home and in the community, and to transport clients in a safe and effective manner. (Proof of adequate vehicle insurance is required.)
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.
Minimum of two years freedom from misuse of alcohol and other drugs and throughout the period of internship.
Understands and adheres to state and federal confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
Conducts self ethically and professionally at all times.
PREFERRED POSITION ATTRIBUTES AND SKILLS
Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical activity, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
Knowledge of King County Behavioral Health and Medicaid Benefits helpful
Dually certified mental health and chemical dependency/substance use disorder helpful
