Private School Security Supervisor - Full time

Armed Security Officer

The Security Supervisor leads and oversees a two-officer security team at a faith-based school and church campus located on the west side of Franklin near Bellevue. This role maintains an active security presence to help ensure the safety of students, staff, church members, and visitors. Responsibilities include monitoring campus grounds, responding to incidents, assisting with traffic control, and ensuring accurate reporting and documentation, while consistently demonstrating professionalism and upholding the organization's values.

Work Hours & Coverage:

• The primary supervisor shift is typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overall campus coverage running from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar.
• Flexibility is required to support staffing needs, schedule adjustments, and special events, with occasional extended hours and additional opportunities as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary liaison between Serva and the client while building positive, trust-based relationships with students, staff, and church members.
• Manage assigned security schedules and complete all required documentation and reporting in a timely and accurate manner.
• Conduct regular security patrols and actively monitor campus grounds to prevent and respond to security incidents.
• Assess situations and apply the appropriate and lawful level of force when necessary to protect life and ensure safety.
• Secure campus facilities and personnel by patrolling buildings, parking lots, athletic fields, and monitoring access points.
• Maintain a professional, courteous, and respectful demeanor in all interactions.
• Assist with daily carpool operations and traffic control.
• Accompany students and personnel between buildings and parking areas upon request.
• Log all observations, incidents, and surveillance activity accurately and promptly.
• Greet and direct campus visitors to proper check-in procedures and professionally address and remove unauthorized individuals from campus when necessary.
• Support staffing needs, including shift coverage, schedule adjustments, and other security-related operational requirements as assigned.

Requirements

Preferred Candidate Qualities:

• Supervisory or leadership experience is a plus
• Two years of school security experience.
• Four years or more of law enforcement experience.
• Four years or more of military experience.
• Four years or more of school security/SRO experience.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED trained.

Minimum Standards:

• Current Tennessee Armed Officer License.
• Current TN Active Shooter certification.
• Pass Serva's Physical Fitness Test.
• Demonstrable Firearms Skill and Training.
• Willing to put yourself in harm's way for others.
• Must pass the TBI criminal background check required to work in educational facilities with children present.
• Be able to comply with the eligibility to work in the United States via a Federal E-Verify check.

Physical Requirements:

• Be able to do 50 push-ups, then 50 sit-ups (or a 70-second plank), and 50 bodyweight squats in less than 8 minutes.
• Work will be indoor and outdoor and require long periods of movement and activity.
• Employment typically requires standing, walking, and working in noisy environments.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Carries firearms and other required security items at all times.
