Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN)The Emergency Room is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join its team on the evening shift. This position is a 12-hour shift with guaranteed hours, requiring a commitment to providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide patient care to a diverse population in a Level 2 trauma center.Manage a patient load of 40-160 patients daily with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1 to 4:1.Perform lab draws and administer medications as required.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and mid-level providers.Interpret and manage cardiac monitor strips; monitor station located centrally.Maintain clinical documentation and patient records using Cerner - FirstNet EMR system.Assist with trauma-related emergencies, including both adult and pediatric patients, ensuring appropriate interventions are performed.Support the patient care team with aides and emergency medical aides for various assistance duties.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department (ED).Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS required.Ability to work night shifts and be available for 2 out of 3 major holidays.Experience caring for a low socioeconomic status patient population; understanding of challenges such as homelessness and substance abuse preferred.Work Environment12-hour shifts with times varying from 0630 to 2400.Emergency Department has 26 beds with fast-track capabilities.No floating required; specific orientation is provided to new hires.Weekly weekend rotation required; holidays will be rotated with core staff.This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a focus on trauma care.
