Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Summary:

The Operating Room RN will provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in a Level 2 trauma unit, supporting a variety of complex surgical specialties. This role demands skilled, adaptable nurses experienced in trauma and multiple surgical disciplines to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer comprehensive preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgery.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure smooth intraoperative procedures across diverse specialties, including ortho, neuro, trauma, vascular, and robotics.
  
  
• 
  Monitor and stabilize patients during surgery, managing anesthesia and surgical equipment.
  
  
• 
  Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, including infection control and patient safety standards.
  
  
• 
  Document all nursing actions and patient responses accurately within electronic health records.
  
  
• 
  Provide post-operative care, including patient recovery and discharge planning.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold valid RN license, with active Washington license or application in process.
  
  
• 
  Possess a minimum of 2 years experience in trauma, ortho, neuro, or vascular surgery in a Level 2 trauma setting.
  
  
• 
  Be certified in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency with Epic electronic charting and familiarity with operating room equipment.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong clinical judgment and ability to work effectively within a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
  
  
• 
  Be willing to work 4x10 hour day shifts and take on-call shifts as required.
