About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Women's Services - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE Must-Have: - Minimum of 3 years of NICU experience - Ability to attend deliveries and stabilize newborns - Experience attending c-sections as a delivery nurse - Comfortable with first-time travelers - Background in mother-baby preferred Description: Join a dedicated team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit providing exceptional care for newborn patients. This unit offers a Level II NICU with eight private suites. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3. Common patient diagnoses include respiratory distress, feeders and growers, hypoglycemia, and NAS scoring due to opioid withdrawal. Nurses are required to stabilize newborns during assessments and adhere to best practices. All nurses will attend scheduled, urgent, and emergent c-sections as part of their responsibilities. There is a Charge Nurse overseeing the department, with a Resource Nurse available to stabilize admissions and assist in high-risk deliveries. Centralized monitoring systems are in place for continuous patient monitoring. Flexible scheduling accommodates weekend and holiday shifts based on unit needs. Travel nurses have the opportunity to float to various locations as needed. Strict policies are in place regarding hygiene, including limitations on fingernail embellishments.
