Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) needed in Fort Wayne, Indiana, for a 13-week assignment caring for adult and pediatric patients in a Level II trauma emergency department. Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980–$2,080
• Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 15, 2027
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 3:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
• Emergency Department: Approximately 40 rooms, including monitored rooms and resuscitation bays
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1 nurse to 4 patients
• Charting and Medication Systems: Epic and Pyxis
• Orientation: Mandatory 8-hour orientation days held Monday through Friday during week one and Monday through Tuesday during week two; attendance is required for all seven orientation days
• Dress Code: Caribbean blue scrubs

Emergency Room RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in Indiana or a valid compact-state RN license
• At least 2 years of recent emergency department or emergency room nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification strongly preferred
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate care in a fast-paced acute-care emergency department

Travel Emergency Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and traumatic conditions
• Perform rapid assessments, prioritize care, and respond effectively to changing patient conditions
• Care for patients in monitored rooms, non-monitored treatment rooms, and resuscitation bays
• Support trauma and medical resuscitation efforts in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following established clinical protocols
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in Epic
• Work collaboratively within a team-nursing model to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality emergency care
• Educate patients and families and facilitate appropriate transitions of care
