Position Details Position Title: Promotora College/Division: Agricultural, Consumer & Env Sci Col Department: 303400-FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES Location: Las Cruces Target Hourly/Salary Rate: 16.83 Appointment Full-time Equivalency: 1.0 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Bargaining Unit Announcement: This is a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME). Contingent Upon Funding: Contingent upon funding Standard Work Schedule: Shift: Other Shift If Not a Standard Work Schedule: Some weekend and evening travel will be required Job Duties and Responsibilities Deliver community-based, culturally appropriate health programs. Conduct and provide prevention education and resources or health education activities. Recruit and organize groups of individuals with limited income and/or from minority populations. Assist with coordinating and implementing grant-related programs. Refer program participants to various agencies and community resources. Distribute, collect and document program information, including outcomes using methods such as surveys and assessments. Maintain working knowledge of health activities and issues in the U.S.-Mexico border. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Education and Experience: High School diploma or higher degree. Working Conditions and Physical Effort Environment: Work is normally performed indoors. Physical Effort: No or very limited physical effort required. Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.
