RSD Body Electric - 12V Electrician I

Job Details: Location: Lyons, SD. Position Type: Full Time. Category: Skilled Labor - Trades. Position Summary The 12v Electrician will route wires for the fire apparatus equipment, install 12v accessories such as sensors and lights, fabricate boxes, mounts and other equipment according to blueprints. Essential Functions Route 12v electrical wires to equipment following wire diagrams. Connect lights, hose reels and other accessories to electrical boxes. Fabricate boxes, mounts and other equipment required for electrical installation per blueprints. Communicate with fabricators to ensure complete installation. Fabricate wire harnesses as needed. Utilize basic hand tools, shears and brake press. Perform additional duties as required by management to support company needs. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Knowledge of DC electrical equipment. At least 6 months of related experience. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to perform basic math operations. Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields. Adherence to safety policies. Ability to read and work from blueprints and spec books. Strong mechanical and technical aptitude. Tools Utilized Handheld power tools Basic hand tools Tape measure Wire stripper/crimper Utility knife Multimeter Other Qualifications Valid driver's license. Own vehicle. Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally. Local travel. Physical Demands Lifting up to 20 lb regularly. Requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching, bending, and occasional light cleaning tasks. Must tolerate moderate noise and vibration. Working Conditions Work in wet, humid and outdoor conditions with exposure to fumes, chemicals, fire hazards, electrical shock and vibration. Requires PPE: safety boots, safety glasses, cut‑resistant gloves, respirator, and face shield.
