Controller

The Controller is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance while providing financial insight to support business decision-making. This role is well-suited for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a small manufacturing environment and enjoys improving processes, building structure, and partnering with leadership. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activities. Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules. Maintain cost accounting processes, inventory valuation, and job costing. Oversee payroll and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Manage sales tax, property tax, and other required filings. Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and KPI reporting. Coordinate year-end activities with external auditors and tax advisors. Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes. Provide financial analysis and decision support to leadership. Maintain the integrity of ERP and accounting system data. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing. Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting. Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments. Preferred Experience Small to mid-sized manufacturing environment. Inventory management, BOMs, and production costing.
